Interpretation, Translation and Accessible Documents


Malheur Council on Aging & Community Resources is committed to ensuring equal access to all of it's publicly funded programs and services by providing qualified interpreters, translated materials and additional accommodations to limited-English-proficient persons and people with disabilities.


Interpretation:

Malheur Council on Aging & Community Services can provide spoken language interpreters to limited-English- proficient persons in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Requests for spoken language interpreters must be received at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled event. Sign language interpreter services and reasonable accommodations for deaf persons can also be made available in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Requests for sign language interpreters should be made at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled event when possible.


Translation and Accessible Documents:

Malheur Council on Aging & Community Services can provide translated materials for it's programs and services upon request. Requests for translated materials for events should be made up to 72 hours in advance. For translated materials for general programs and services documents, please allow 7 days for processing. Materials can also be provided in an alternative format such as braille, large print, accessible electronic documents, or other accessible formats used by persons who are blind or have low vision.
