SRT-Malheur Express offers the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit services to persons with permanent, conditional or temporary disabilities who cannot access or utilize the City of Ontario Fixed Route Service. (Excludes commuter routes). Individuals receiving Paratransit services are required to complete an application to determine eligibility. Our Paratransit Services are door-to-door and service vehicles are equipped with a ramp or lift to allow wheelchair accessibility.

Monday - Friday

(6:00 am- 5:00 om)


1st Saturday of Every Month (9:00 am - 3:00 pm)


*No Service - New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. (New Years Eve and Christmas Eve Hours May Vary)

FARE RATES


$2.00 per leg


10 punch pass:

$20.00


  • Passengers must have exact change.


  • Origination and destination cannot exceed 3/4 mile of the Ontario Fixed Route.


  • Personal care attendants ride for FREE! (Personal Care attendants must be traveling to and from the same location as the rider)

ACCESSIBILITY


  • All vehicles are equipped with a ramp/lift.


  • Service animals welcome. Comfort animals/pets must be in a carrier or leashed.


  • Mobility devices must be secured during transport.


  • Drivers will assist customers getting on and off the bus.


  • Riders with mobility limitations or those who are unable to utilize vehicle stairs may request to use the ramp/lift.

HOW TO SCHEDULE A RIDE


To schedule a next day ride, please call the dispatch & scheduling office at (541) 881-0000 the day before.


Rides can be scheduled up to one (1) week in advance. (Reservations for medical appointments may be made longer in advance).


Please provide the following information when scheduling a ride: 

 

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Pick up Address
  • Destination Address
  • Requested Pick up Time
  • Estimated Return Time
  • Method of Payment
  • Type of Mobility Device (if applicable)
  • If someone will be traveling with you
  • If you will be bringing a Service Animal with you


Pick up and drop off times are scheduled within a service window of 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after the requested pick up time. Passengers are asked to be ready as drivers may arrive up to 15 minutes before the requested pick up time and we only allow for a 5 minute wait time .

 


HOW TO CANCEL A TRIP AND NO SHOWS

Passengers should contact the SRT-Malheur Express dispatch and scheduling office at (541) 881-0000 or on the after hours line at (541) 212-9085 to cancel a ride. Cancellations must be made at least two hours in advance or it will be considered a "No Show". Ridership privileges may be suspended due to a pattern of "No Show" appointments. SRT-Malheur Express may refuse service to an individual who engages in violent, seriously disruptive or illegal conduct; or represents a direct threat to the health and safety of others – this is a strict safety requirement. Drivers will call 911 in cases of serious disruptions and potentially illegal activities. Failure to following the passenger rules may result in a suspension of service.


If you find a item on the bus, please turn it in to the driver. If you have lost an item, contact the SRT-Malheur Express Transportation & Dispatch Office at 541-881-0000. Unclaimed items will be disposed of after 30 days.
